ENV 423  Field Experience in Environmental Science

Explores environmental studies topics and concepts through work in the field, using the Pacific Northwest as a laboratory. Field destinations vary from term to term and include state/national parks, wilderness areas, wildlife refuges, as well as urban environments.  This course may incorporate a mix of classroom sessions, multi-day field trips by van, moderate hiking, tent camping, and cooperative meal planning.  Students will take field notes, encounter research scientists and others working in the field, and research and present on topics of their choosing relevant to field experiences.  Prerequisites: Instructor permission required.  MU Core category: Sustainability & Science. Notes: Includes field trips. This course may incur a fee in addition to tuition.  May be repeated for credit. 4 crs.
