AT 544  Understanding Children’s Art

Participants will develop an understanding of what can be learned about children through looking at their artwork. The primary focus will be learning what the visual language indicates about the children’s subjective experience and knowledge of the world around them. Topics include normal graphic development throughout childhood, cognitive abilities as reflected in the artwork, and communicating with children about their art products and processes. Pass/No Pass grading not available. Cross-listed as AT 444  for undergraduate credit and as AT 044  for continuing education. 1 cr.
