MTH 108  Symmetry, Shape and Space

This is a mathematics course for students who want to expand their knowledge of geometry in a visual, exploration-oriented, studio-driven course. Topics include: the Golden Ratio, Tilings, the fourth dimension, perspective and illusions. Students will explore nature and art to develop their own deductive, inductive, algebraic and trigonometric tools that detect and analyze geometric patterns and relationships.  In this course, quantitative reasoning is used to analyze artistic methods.
