SCS 330 Globalization Globalization has become a buzzword to explain the contemporary world in which we live. Some imagine globalization as a flattening of the world, bringing greater prosperity to all, while others argue that it is a form of neocolonialism, concealing the asymmetrical relations of power that benefit the rich. This seminar will examine this phenomenon through the lens of history, culture, media, politics and economics so as to better situate ourselves as critical thinkers of the contemporary world. MU Core category: Community & Global Engagement. 4 crs.
