MU 135  Diatonic Aural Skills I

Development of listening, singing and improvisation skills in relation to the materials studied in MU 125 . Listening skills include recognizing, notating and analyzing rhythms, diatonic melodies and harmonic progressions using I, IV, and V chords. Singing skills include recreating at sight intermediate diatonic melodies and simple harmonic progressions in arpeggiated form. Meets three hours per week. Prerequisites: MU 115  or passed the Aural Fundamentals Proficiency. 2 crs.
