HMS 483  Human Studies: Relationship with the Environment

The environment encompasses everything that surrounds us, both natural and constructed. This course explores aesthetic, ecological, individual and collective frameworks for relations with the surrounding and supporting ecosystems, and with particular elements and beings within those systems. The values that people impose upon and derive from their environments are explored, as well as the effects of human actions and belief systems on the health and sustainability of ecosystems and society. Prerequisites: HMS 480 . 4 crs.
